#MeToo Zoom Call

Note: 11/20/17

Hi all,
Do to a death of a dear friend and teacher I unfortunately need to change the date of the call to Friday the 24th at 2-4pm to be able to attend her service.

I apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can make it.

Thank you for your understanding.

I am still fired up!

I continue to be impacted by this movement that highlights the level of unconsciousness in connection to sexual harassment and abuse.

As more people come forward to finally speak out after years of silence, I feel a loosening of a tension I never realized I had around this subject of abuse. Working for years in the field of sexual abuse and trauma I thought I knew the depth of the pain and how deeply these survivors beings were impacted throughout their lives.

I see that I was wrong, I am still learning how to truly understand the depth of their despair and pain everyday. And I'm asking if you are willing to help me create a listening space for these humans to be able to share their story without judgement or a to do list, so they can be held and heard?

I am struck by how many people have jumped onto this movement in support as well as being very willing to share their opinion. I have been surprised by how many people are invested in giving an opinion rather than a supportive ear and hopefully a shoulder to lean on.

So to be clear, this call and any subsequent calls on the #metoo campaign that I am offering are in service of giving space for these humans to be heard. That means LISTENED TO my peeps. Many of them have been silent for years.

It is vulnerable coming out with this kind of secret. So before we go all up in their space giving suggestions on how to, don't do, or whatever you all have in mind to "fix" the problem, can we please give them a space to land and be heard and held.

This is an issue that has been going on for millennia, it won't be managed in a few weeks.

Because we know that breaking the code of silence is the first step into healing this level of trauma.

So let's find a deeper level of compassion and space for all of us to learn how to listen and create a collective landing pad to be taken in and heard.
